The President’s Poke

July, 2017

The Declaration of Independence proclaims God as Creator.

“The Declaration contains five references to God — God as supreme Lawmaker, God as Creator of all men, God as the Source of all rights, God as the world’s supreme Judge, and God as our Protector on whom we can rely.

The Declaration of Independence declares that each of us is created. If we were created, we must have had a Creator. The Declaration of Independence declares that each of us is created equal. This means equally endowed with unalienable rights. It does not mean that all are born with equal capabilities, as obviously they are not. Nor does it mean that all of us can be made equal, as Communist dogma alleges. Obviously and realistically, as the modern discovery of DNA now confirms, each of God’s creatures is unequal and different in every other way from every other person who has ever lived or ever will live on this earth.”

I am praying that everyone is having a jubilant and safe 4th of July week of festivities.  For the first few weeks this month, the events have been few and far in between.  Even though as a ministry we might not be riding together, we should always be in the Word and praying for one another.  Let's continue to draw near to God.

We should always be prepared in and out of season:

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17).

“This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success…” (Joshua 1:8).

“For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  (Hebrews 4:12).

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.” (1 John 5:14-15).

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).

Our next Tuesday night ride is July 11th and our next chapter meeting has been moved to July 15th.  We’re praying we can all meet and have a great time at our fellowship dinner afterwards.

The past couple of months we have been having some great rides and ministry opportunities, and new members are stepping up in a big way.  God definitely has his hand on this ministry and its members.  Everyone counts, everyone is needed; we are all parts to the same body, the body of Christ.
