The President's Poke

The President’s Poke

March, 2017

I pray this letter finds everyone well, and I am hoping to see everyone on Saturday, March 11th for our monthly chapter meeting, and then for a fellowship dinner afterward.

Wow, we experienced some great days of riding weather so early in the season!  I wonder if March will “come in like a lion and out like a lamb”.  This year, it could come in like a Victory and out like an Indian.  In another country, it could come in like a Yamaha and go out like a Suzuki. And in another country, it can come in like a BSA and end like a Triumph.  Some countries, it could come in like a Harley and exit like another Harley, starting like a Fat Boy and ending like an Ultra Classic.  Or I know 9 countries where sometimes March comes in like a frog and goes out like a golden retriever…ok enough of that.

In the NIV, Ecclesiastes 3:1-14 reads as follows:

A Time for Everything

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace.

What do workers gain from their toil?  I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.  He has made everything beautiful in its time . He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.  I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.  That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.  I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it.  God does it so that people will fear him.

…and a time to ride, and a time to do bike blessings and a time to do bike shows and a time for fellowship.  Verses 12-13 say, “I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.”  Boy, if that doesn’t sound like riding your motorcycle and spreading the LOVE OF JESUS, I don’t know what else could.

Another riding season is upon us.  Time to armor up and preach the gospel.  Time to ride the highways and byways in search of the lost, broken and the unsaved.  Let this season be our greatest yet.  Let’s pray for each other and pray for those that the Lord puts in our path.  Let’s be led by the Spirit and not worry about what to speak for words, because they will be provided.  Let’s fellowship together and use our spiritual gifts to build each other up, and have one mindset…to preach Jesus as the only way to eternal life…for we are many parts to one body…the body of Christ.

With love from your brother and sister in Christ,

Jim and Kathy.
